Who We Are The Woodwright Academy was founded by Terry O. Bruns for the initial purpose of helping produce a pool of woodworking talent and and opportunity to share woodworking experiences. The resulting interest was so great that our mission became one of satisfying the demand and fulfilling the needs of other woodworkers. What Are We All About? Our completely furnished woodworking shop offers an intimate, relaxed class atmosphere conducive to our "hands-on" approach to making our skills your skills. In some classes, you work at your own speed at your own bench. Will You Fit In? You bet you will. Our small class sizes are designed to allow everyone to work at his or her own pace and receive all the instructional attention you require. We're here for you. Oh, yes... as many men take our classes as women.

What Tools Do I Need for the Class? For each class you should bring your own hand tools. We wil cover sharpening and tuning up of your tools. We do have loaner tools so that should not stop you from coming. A list of tools that you will be using will be sent out before class. You will be asked to inform us, prior to coming, of any tools that you will need.

How Do I Register for a Class? Stop in, write, or call Woodwright & Lumber Company and bring or send a check for half of the tuition.

What Happens If I Cancel? If the need arises to cancel, just call two weeks prior to class and your deposit will be applied to the next class time you choose.

What About Lunch? We ask that you bring lunch with you. During break we talk about the days events and it is also a good time to catch up or go over those question you have. We will have drinks and sweets.

Where We Are Located The Woodwright Academy facility is a part of the Woodwright & Lumber Co., located 10 minutes West of the I-75 Needmore Road Exit Number 58. (See the map on the Woodwright & Lumber Co. home page). Nearby are plenty of motels and restaurants to fit every type of budget.
